Description
Moonlight And A Ride in Santa’s Sleigh is one of a series for Gary Knowles’ Christmas Childrens’ Story – “The Donkey Book.”
The presents were all delivered Christmas Eve, and now Santa could fulfill his promise to Banjo and take Banjo and Betty on a moonlight ride in the sleigh !
Hear the composer’s original recording:
an arrangement for piano and vocal commissioned for this site:
Look at you and look at me
And look at all these things we see
Flying in the night
Flying up so high
Moonlight and a ride in Santa’s sleigh
Flowers and some hay-
You’re holding my bouquet
Everything now smells so sweet
Breezing through the air
And without a care
Moonlight and a ride in Santa’s sleigh
Look over there
That little house we were there not long ago
We were very careful how we landed
’cause the roof had no snow
And the house over there
Santa had a little trouble
going down the little chimney
But coming back up was easy with a touch of his nose
I love you and you love me
And we’re so lucky just to be
Flying in the sky
On a starry night
Moonlight and a ride in Santa’s sleigh
See the stars
There must be at least ten thousand stars
Almost as many stars in the sky
As in my eyes
When I look at you
Yeah in my eyes when I look at you!
We are here in such good cheer
Thank you Santa and reindeer
Flying in the night
Everything so right
Moonlight, you, and a ride In Santa’s sleigh
