Description
Good Golly Betty is one of a series for Gary Knowles’ Christmas Childrens’ Story – “The Donkey Book.”
Banjo awkwardly approaches Betty knowing what Boo told her.
Hear the composer’s original recording:
an arrangement for piano and vocal commissioned for this site:
Good golly Betty
You weren’t supposed to know I love ya
You weren’t supposed to know
Until I told you so
Good golly Betty
So Boo has told you that I love ya
So now should I stay here
Or should I go
I had planned to say it with flowers
A really nice bouquet
Filled with pink carnations
And roses and some hay
And I talked to dear old Santa
He said what he would do
He’d take us for a sleigh ride
With a moonlight view
Good golly Betty
I don’t know what to do now
So much for me to try and take it slow
Good golly Betty
I wish Boo hadn’t told you
And now I need to ask
should I stay or go?
