“Enquiring Minds” is a promise of fidelity by Gary Knowles
Well I see the headlines
In the tabloids
At the grocery store
Of a famous person
Caught with someone
Not his wife of course
And he says that he is sorry
That he made a big mistake
But if he had not been caught
I wonder what he’d say
And we know temptation
Hurts relations
Happens all the time
And the dirty linen
Keeps on spinnin’
See it all online
And the tabloids go say
Will she won’t won’t she
Go and take him back?
Will she not forgive him
Or will she give him some slack
Well now I’d never do those things to you
I’d never do those things to you
I’d never fool around with anybody else
I would rather be a monk upon a mountain top alone
Than to cheat on you
‘cause you are my one and only
So I put the paper back into
The rack and left the store
Knowing other famous cheaters
Will be in next week for sure
And enquiring minds will want to read
About them it is so
I just think it’s really sad
They don’t know love I know
I’d never do those things to you
I’d never do those things to you
I’d never fool around with anybody else
I would rather be a monk upon a mountain top alone
Than to cheat on you
‘cause you are my one and only
True love
