Easter Song

Now tell me have you heard what they have gone and done
to our beloved Jesus Christ?
He wears a crown of thorns
They nailed Him to a wooden cross

And now He suffers for our sins and as He does (My poor heart)
He forgives everyone
And then we see Him die
so high upon upon the wooden cross (is broken)

and He died for you and me
For all humanity
Many heard His cries
Many saw Him die

Yes He died for you and me
For all humanity
What is now to be?
What can I not see?

And they took Him away
His body in a cave

but then
resurrection
no earthly explanation

There He was before them
apostles of the Lord
There for all to see Him
hear Him know His holy words

Far now in the future we know
He is with us still
With His love and teachings
both our minds and hearts He fills

And so we celebrate our faith

and God’s love this Easter day
